Peter-Family.net |
WelcomeThis site is dedicated to the descendants of André and his family, along with many other families from villages in the Semois River Valley, departed from La Havre, France in the fall of 1841 aboard the Mayflower II and arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 17, 1842. They helped found and settle Leopold, Indiana. André felled the first tree to clear the land where Leopold is today. This site is also dedicated to anyone who traces their roots to the early days of Leopold, Indiana or to those villages in the Semois Valley; and to our cousins in Belgium. A warm welcome also to the Pierre and related families in Brown, Door, and Kewaunee Counties in Wisconsin and all our yet undiscovered cousins. — Deanna Peters Denk [7.1.5.3.1]
